Encouragement
“Therefore encourage one another and build up one another….” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
“that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself…” Colossians 2:2
What if we considered this our life’s work? To encourage and build up one another?
What would friendship look like if this were it’s goal? or marriage, parenting, time spent with fellow workers, time spent in our neighborhoods, or with our church fellows?
The Greek word, parakaleo (Strong’s 3870 ) includes the concept of proximity. Calling someone to your side, for strengthening, encouragement, comfort, instruction etc.
Webster’s definition of encourage is worth meditating on…

Hello Aunt Tea! I didn't know you had a blogger blog and I've never seen a picture of you before! So nice to put a face with the person. :)
Being an encourager is very important to me. There are so many people who are depressed, unhappy, sad, and miserable. They need a hug, a pat on the back, a smile, a kind word. Thank you for the reminder to do so.
So happy to find you here in this lovely lovely spot and see your face for very the first time. You are every bit as dear in real life as I imagined you to be. And thank you for encouraging us to encourage. Such a beautiful reminder.
Hi.. I love the title of your blog.. and i love tea as well. I was just visiting blogs tonight and came across your so i thought I'd visit awhile and say hello. A word of encouragement can do wonders to a soul that is hurting. It can make a child bloom beyond what we can ever imagine, and it can bring hope to a hurting world. I enjoyed this post *smile*
Aloha Lorie
